2022 Flow State
Flow state, often referred to as being “in the zone,” is a mental state of complete immersion, focus, and energy in an activity. The three-hare motif on the label, first seen in cave temples in China in the 6th century, traveled along the Silk Road and appeared across sacred sites in East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. It depicts three hares sharing three ears, yet each appears to have two—symbolizing eternity and the connection between heaven and earth. This motif represents our winemaking team and reflects the flow state they experience during the winemaking process: energized, focused, and fully immersed.
2022 Fairest Creature Flow State Cabernet Sauvignon
Pulled from lots made by Benoit Touquet, Philippe Melka, and Thomas Rivers Brown, with the blend done by Michel Rolland, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Flow State is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc that was raised in 85% new French oak. It’s a gorgeous 2022 that offers an upfront, ripe, sexy profile of cassis, spring flowers, camphor, liquid violets, and hints of chocolate. This rich, full-bodied 2022 has a round, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe and velvety tannins, and remarkable purity. It doesn’t get much better in the vintage. Give bottles just a year or two and enjoy over the following 15. (97 Points, Jeb Dunnuck)
